PDAs are a valuable component of any disability management program. Because PDAs identify and quantify the physical demands and tasks of a job, they form the basis for timely and effective return to work plans. This, in turn, allows employers to identify appropriate modified work options for injured employees and enables medical experts to accurately assess whether or not an injured employee is able to return to work.

This half-day workshop will provide employers with the tools required to complete Physical Demands Analysis (PDAs) at their own work site.

Topics of discussion during this seminar will include:

• How to collect data about a job, including typical assessment tools as well as relevant terms used when describing a job
• Introduction of a user friendly PDA form
• Applying the information in PDAs to accommodate injured employees with safe and meaningful work
• Creating customized PDAs through identifying, evaluating & measuring physical, environmental and psychosocial job requirements
• Evaluating the information for possible risk factors related to poor ergonomics
  

This small group session is interactive in nature and will provide opportunity for attendees to apply what they've learned through demonstrations, videos, pictures, and group discussion.

This half-day workshop will assist employers with their development of a modified work program. Worksite based interventions, such as modified duties, is the most effective and efficient way to manage injury related costs and to assist injured workers to return to work quickly and safely. However, identifying modified duties or knowing what steps to follow when designing a return to work program can be difficult.

This half-day, interactive workshop is designed to provide:

• the framework and tools needed to develop, implement or improve a modified work program
• guidelines and tools to assist in the return to work of an injured employee
• ideas and examples of appropriate modified

This small group session is interactive in nature. Case studies are presented for discussion. Additional topics include company ergonomics culture, laptop use, business scenarios and the aging workforce.
