Coordination of Medical Services
Medical Services coordinate quick and easy access to diagnostic and referral services to meet the needs of your workers attending Millard Health. We provide excellent diagnostic, consultation referral and coordination services, exceeding those found in the current medical delivery system. In Medical Coordination, we deliver the appropriate and timely medical support needed for individuals to return to optimal function and work. Claim costs can also be controlled with timely return to work.

Assessing the Injury/Illness
Our assessments provide quantified results telling you how much the injury or illness has affected a worker. You will have detailed findings such as active and passive ranges of motion at relevant sites, neurological findings, baseline measurements, and worker pain rating. We can also outline the worker's medical history, their current symptoms, a determination of abilities/restrictions, and next steps for treatment.

Depending on the information you require, Millard Health offers two types of assessments. Our 1-day Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) evaluates the need for further treatment. Our 2-day FCE focuses on the return to work process and a worker's abilities as well as the presence/absence of work restrictions.

Objective Medical Findings
We use standardized protocols for objective findings. They provide case managers with the facts and figures needed for effective claims management.

Causation is Critical
Independent medical exams allow us to make clinical judgments on whether your worker's symptoms are a result of an accident or illness, or if a pre-existing condition is having an effect. We can also confirm a previous diagnosis.

Brokering
Our brokering allows you quick access to high quality assessment and treatment centres around Alberta. These centres provide a multidisciplinary team of health and rehabilitation experts.
